Welcome to 2018!!! I just like you want to make changes. My training didn’t go as planned and 2017 had a ton of changes in my life personally and professionally. CFOX has kept me sane and I love everyone here. You all are my motivation to be a better coach, athlete, and I learn more from you than you’ll ever know and I thank you for it! Here are some tips I use to help me keep on track with my resolutions.
- Tell everyone about it!! Yes be “that guy/girl” blasting your social media with “new year, new me”, #beastmode, #2017ismyyear, or #strongisthenewskinny!! Keeping your goals to yourself only means you can quit without any consequences. Don’t go at this alone. Find someone in class to keep you accountable to show up to the box and push yourself!
- Drop all your bad habits at once!!!….not at all. Focus on one bad habit to break at a time. Challenging yourself to stop drinking coffee with creamer, get 8 hours of sleep a night, exercise 5 days a week and and eat healthy is throwing a lot on your plate. Focus on one goal at a time and move on to the next.
- Treat yo’self!! Celebrate small victories on the way to your long term goal. Like what I was saying above, focus on one goal at a time. Did santa forget to get you something for Christmas? Put a set amount of money each time you complete a workout or reach a goal weight. Soon enough you’ll have enough cash to buy a new CFOX hoodie or your coach a coffee 🙂
You will mess up. Deal with it, brush it off, move on. No one is perfect. It’s your kids birthday? Have that ice cream and cake. Eat some candy from the pinata, you will be ok. Just hit that reset button for the day and focus on your goals.
