I’m sitting there the other day and my son turns to me and says; “Daddy, let me see your muscles”. So of course I bro flex on him and his mind is blown on how strong Daddy is. I then suplex him on the bed and throw him into an arm bar because that is what good dads do. THIS is why I do Crossfit. It’s not about going to the games, having a six pack, or a million Instagram followers. For me it’s about being a role model to my son and being healthy enough to play with my grandkids when that time comes. Longevity is the name of the game now and I hope to instill good habits in my kiddo in hopes he will live an active lifestyle. Not because he “needs to” but because it is all that he knows growing up. Too many things in today’s culture are putting kids on the couch. TV’s, phones, and computers are creating sedentary lifestyles in younger generations. I want to expose my son to more than just that. I’ll take him outside to the garage with me when I work out to just be around “movement”. He’ll do some squats with me or some push ups and call it a day. My goals have changed from PR’s to just being a good dad that my kid can be proud of.
