Seriously, these coaches are trying to kill me. Run 800 where? Lift 200 what? Squat how many times? Why? Constantly varied, functional fitness done at relative high intensity is the reason. We program to give the best fighting chance to get fit. Now if you just joined us my expectations are a little lower. You’ve got a learning curve to get over. What are the movements, how long can you go, do i understand what the coach is saying? These are questions of the newly initiated and you probably have a few more. Now if you’ve been with us for a while you’ll have noticed that you can do more than before. Congrats! Or you have leveled off and not seeing the PRs you were making in the beginning. Our program is designed to be challenging and uncomfortable. When you see the WOD and you already know what scale you will use because you “normally” do this or that is how you level off. I often tell my classes to do the hardest heaviest longest version of what they can do and then I encourage them to not stop to not give in to push harder. I show scales for everything so you can choose to the next level and the next and the next so you can get those RXs we put on the board and beyond. Choose to challenge yourself. It’s alright to be intimidated and fearful it’s what you do with those anxieties that will get you to the next level. Choose uncomfortable, choose heavier, longer, choose challenging. Win at life.
