The Perfect Coach’s Athlete, Part I
The coaches at CrossFit Oxnard have spent tens of thousands of dollars and hours on their training to be the best trainers, coaches, and mentors they can be. We all have our different styles and personalities, and that diversity truly is what makes the staff so powerful.
Aside from the individual idiosyncrasies, there are always constants to movement patterns, technique, and overall science of a lift/movement. The coaches are here to provide you with the ART of CrossFit. When we establish a connection with an athlete, we realize that relationship goes both ways.
I always say, ‘I don’t care how MUCH you lift, I care HOW you lift’. Numbers, maxes, and PRs are always sweet, but it’s the effort and potential that you give and have that makes my tail wag. What I look for in a solid athlete can be broken down into some core principles. This week’s blogs will break these down for you in four parts of what the coaches are truly looking for…CCPP (to be continued throughout the week…)
