Movement. Motion. Up down left right forwards backwards sideways confidently or with cowardice. Movement and motion are how we interact with our environment. It’s not just about squatting or handstands or pull ups or running. Position and posture are snapshots of that movement. If you took a snapshot of your movement right now as you are reading this, what would it say about you and how you interact with your environment. Are you able to hold this position or posture with ease? If not, why? Is this the position or posture that you intended? Is there anything that you might change about that movement now that you have seen the snapshot of it? Movement and motion also, of course, determine where we are going. Are we progressing and changing, whether for better or worse? Or are we stagnant and stuck going through the motions and in that same position? Hopefully by now you realize I am referring to both the movement of our bodies and the movement of our lives in general. The point I am trying to make is that all movement is connected. As we get swept up in the movement of our lives, we often forget about the movement of our bodies, and vice versa. Try reconnecting them and see what happens!
