As I watch the World Cup and see other nations rejoice, I also reflect on the past three months with my broken hand, and the last two weeks as I attempt to get my fitness back. Then I realize….
There’s always a reason to celebrate.
Sometimes you have to search for it, especially on the days when your lifts won’t come off the ground or your double unders decide to play a demonic whipping game with your legs.
But somewhere, in all of the frustration and the feeling of failure there is a reason to celebrate.
Maybe you got a new skill, maybe your pants are fitting the way you have dreamed about. Maybe while the lifts are crushing you, you are crushing the workouts…or vice versa
Maybe none of that is happening for you – and you read this thinking, “nope, no reason to celebrate here…”
Look a little deeper. I challenge you. I know there is something to celebrate.
Be it just getting in on a tough week or celebrating the burn of the moment instead of focusing so much on the time or the load.
Get out of your head, out of the downward spiral you have put yourself on.
In optimism there is magic. In pessimism there is nothing.
So just stop and think, for a moment.
What can you celebrate today?
