The Perfect Coach’s Athlete, Part III
The coaches at CrossFit Oxnard have spent tens of thousands of dollars and hours on their training to be the best trainers, coaches, and mentors they can be. We all have our different styles and personalities, and that diversity truly is what makes the staff so powerful. We also realize the responsibility we have to you, and that this relationship goes both ways.
All this week, I am breaking down the perfect athlete from a coach’s perspective…CCPP.
Confidence doesn’t mean the mindset of ‘I WILL win’ or “I WILL crush this workout’, it’s the athlete believing in themselves, and believing in the coach. Think of the word ‘coach’. By legal definition, we are all CrossFit ‘Trainers’. I believe that the term ‘coach’ embodies a skill set and a responsibility to each athlete to not just demo a movement and start a clock, but to motivate, educate, and inspire. These are responsibilities that we LOVE.
Listen to your coaches, and trust them. We have been down the path before, usually more than once.
