Having a newborn in the house again has been an adjustment to say the least and my sleep patterns have definitely been affected. Prior to Olivia coming into this world one of the things I set out to do was figure out how to not only fuel my body properly, but figure out how food affected my body. I realized what foods gave me inflammation, which ones affected my quality of sleep and all while doing so I noticed my body composition changing for the better. Enough so that even Coach Brenda noticed and gave me praise for it. Eating doesn’t have to be so calculated(unless you’re an RP’er) or tedious and you should most certainly enjoy that donut and chick fil-a from time to time. Most importantly and this was something I struggled with growing up, is that having a body positivity mindset goes a long way when trying to figure out how food fits into your lifestyle and overall health. Im genuinely happy with the way I look and in turn it has helped me immensely in the box. I feel great doing the programming even when I look like I’m dying. My recovery is a lot faster, my quality of sleep is pretty good unless Olivia deems it not so and my numbers have increased in almost all of my lifts. Would it be great to have a six pack? Sure! But that for me doesn’t measure my success in gaining overall better health and increasing my longevity for the long haul. Be proud of your body and what it can do for you over time!
