This blog is a sad but exciting one. It is my final blog at CFOx, at least for the foreseeable future. I am sad to be leaving this family but am beyond excited to welcome and meet the new addition to my own family.
I have been extremely lucky to find a group like y’all. This gym was the first one that I visited when we moved here, and after trying some others out, I kept finding myself wanting to go back to CrossFit Oxnard. I knew I had to be a part of this community. Thank you all for welcoming me and my family into yours, literally from day 1. I still remember Joe calling me out for being a few minutes late and Marita and Val alternating running with The Boss with me, on my first workout. (She couldn’t even crawl then!) This type of environment was just what I needed after the big move from overseas, leaving my CrossFit family there, and becoming a new parent. It was a lot of adjustments all at once, and y’all were my support. I was so excited to have other Moms to look up to and get advice from, and to have my daughter have y’all as role models.
I have enjoyed watching a lot of you progress from the New You program into the amazing athletes you are now. I was excited to compete alongside some of you all in competitions and during the Open, and I have been lucky to witness PRs and firsts, and I am so proud of you!
Finally, I want to thank Joe for allowing me to become part of the coaching staff. The coaches here are top notch, and I was excited to be a part of, and learn from, the team. They welcomed me and brought me in, and were extremely helpful through my husband deploying and this pregnancy.
Keep pushing your limits and striving for excellence!
