That is what ran through my mind when Joe wanted all the coaches to participate in the GoRuck Constellation in Los Alimitos. For anyone that doesn’t know what a GoRuck is, it is based on special forces training. Some events can last from 5 hours all the way up to 24 hours long and during that time you and your teammates will be given instructions by a Special Forces Cadre that must be completed to move on to the next mission.
I didn’t know what to expect and was really nervous as this was TOTALLY out of my comfort zone. I had a blast the whole time! Running around in the middle of the night and learning some survival techniques was so much fun. Now having a family it put me in the mindset that if the zombie apocalypse did happen that I would have to step up and keep my family alive and safe.
With everything I learned that night the biggest takeaway I had was how amazing our CFOX family is. I don’t get to hang out too often with the coaches or members of the gym and that night I felt like we all got a little closer. I’m glad the crew was with me for those 12 hours and am very thankful for the experience! Don’t get complacent in life! Push yourself, get scared, and of course have fun!!
