I LOVE CROSSFIT. Out of my family of 6, I seem to be the one that goes off into their own path to create a path that my siblings can follow. I went to the unknown that was waterpolo my freshman year of high school. I DID NOT know how to swim and the only person that did know how to swim to save their life was my mom. I took the challenge at 14 years old to learn how to swim and eventually be on the varsity Water Polo team and varsity swim team. I did the same thing with CrossFit.
I found CrossFit Oxnard on Facebook and asked my dad if he would like to attend the free intro class with me. Two months later I signed up and one month later I signed up for the CrossFit Open. CrossFit let me challenge myself and continues to challenge me. I give myself goals every couple weeks. Like Coach Joe has said to me before you do not just WIN CrossFit. Crossfit keeps evolving and so do we. There are new challenges ahead for each and everyone of us. I LOVE that. Yeah sometimes I do let my frustration get the best of me but I just shake it off and do it one more time, or just leave it for another day.
Not only do i love CrossFit because it challenges me in every way possible but I LOVE the community that is created between the coaches and athletes. First social event, maybe two weeks into my CrossFit journey I showed up to an event not knowing a soul. They took me in as if I was their family and I never looked back. That was a big deal for me, CrossFit challenged my social skills and has brought me out of my shell A TON. I want you guys to be the reason why someone picks CrossFit Oxnard as their home. Introduce yourself, go outside of your comfort zone to go to social events, COMPETE IN THE OPEN, compete in the upcoming competition, Festivus. CrossFit gives you a family outside of your family, immerse yourself into this family and enjoy the ride.
