“Yep – I let him whine for 2 min today, and yep – this is my current reality when I train.
If you’re fitness plan for the New Year doesn’t take into account your REAL LIFE. If there is no no consideration for the fact that you’re a mom, dad, business owner, student, shift worker, ER Nurse, flight attendant, a beginner… FIND A NEW PLAN.
Embracing your life, your current situation, and your reality is the first and most important step to success. We need to stop modeling our plans and goals around those who don’t have the same challenges or goals that we have. You CAN make changes. You CAN create consistency and follow through for an entire year – not just a few weeks in January. But only after you nail down YOUR most optimal path to success.
Lose the all or nothing attitude. Lose the need to have to spend hours, drive to a specific location at specific hours – if that’s not realistic for your life. Simplify your way to success. Then – one foot in front of the other. One day at a time.
Take matters into your own hands!!!” – Miranda Alcaraz
This really stuck with me when she posted this because my schedule is EVERYWHERE! I have had to switch up my schedule because it was not ideal for me. I was working 5am to 9pm some days and never got to spend time at home and that was really starting to affect my relationship. What did I do? I got a membership at a globo gym to go on my lunch break so I can not only get my fitness in but I was also able to go home at a decent time. Please take into account the life you live. I have and I’ve made it work. I am embracing my current situation!
