Now that it has officially been a year since I have started my coaching journey at CrossFit Oxnard I have decided to share with you all how my life has changed. Being an athlete my entire life lead me to always want to be a coach. I only ever considered being a softball coach or maybe water polo because that’s where I had my most experience and passion. I chose to become part of the CFOx coaching staff over some time as a few openings were being advertised. I told head coach Brenda and we started the process immediately. I was super intimidated as an intern because these coaches are amazing, they have so much knowledge, the athletes really trust them, how was I supposed to fit right in. Trust me, I got overwhelmed at times, felt like I wasn’t good enough, stressed, defeated. Now that I am an official CFOx coach I sit back and look at my process and see how much improvement I have shown. Each class I coach I feel a little more confident than the last, I am not the best coach but I know I am lead by some amazing coaches who are everyday leading me in the right direction. I admire all of my coworkers and athlete here at the gym because you all teach me skills that will not only make me physically stronger but also mentally. The skills I have gained can translate over to any other plans in my life whether its coaching, social interaction, knowledge, lifestyle, health. I am so grateful I made the decision to coach at such an amazing gym, I can’t wait to keep learning and become great will all of you by my side.
