I recently went on a trip with The Boss to San Diego. I was lucky and managed to get reservations at the beach Villas on the Marine base out there. I was so excited to have a little get away with her. Every day we had to run down to the ocean and let the waves splash all over her. I am terrified of open water and was thankful to have had a friend staying on the base as well to assist.
It got me thinking about when we start going from being fearless kids to being fearful. I can’t remember when or what happened to make me afraid of the open water (other than definitely NOT having sea legs). I am thankful to have such a fearless little human in my life to make me get a little uncomfortable and face them. I was able to enjoy that time (after a little hesitation… OK A LOT of hesitation) watching her explore new things instead of missing out on those moments. We should all surround ourselves with people that encourage us to be fearless instead of staying afraid so we can enjoy all that life has to offer us.
