Being a coach that normally teaches the 5AM and 6AM classes, I often get asked “how to you get up that early to work out?”. Answer is pretty simple, I go to bed early. But it’s not just about going to bed early, I also have a evening routine. This makes it easier for me to get up and get to the gym.
As the evening winds down I’ll make sure to put my gym clothes out the night before. That way I wake up and don’t have to spend time fumbling around in the dark looking for clothes or spend time deciding what to wear. My wife has said it looks like I get dressed in the dark and yes it IS true. Next I have to put work clothes together so I can shower and get ready and pack my ALWAYS healthy lunch (please note sarcasm).
But distractions are everywhere. Family, work, school, friends….the list goes on and on. Instead of sitting down to watch netflix, start getting ready for tomorrow. Keep your phone away, as tempting as scrolling through instagram and facebook is. Just check your SugarWod and go to sleep 🙂
What you must remember is that it is YOUR choice on what will distract you. Focus on your goals and put in the effort. If you want to chat about goal setting or routines that help being productive, just slide into my DM’s…or whatever the kids are saying these days. I need Coach Brenda to translate those things for me..
