How You Found CrossFit and/or Why You CrossFit:
I first saw the games flipping through channels on TV and thought it would be fun to try. I started a few months after my sisters had been doing it and they seemed to enjoy it. After my intro class, I found out there was nothing fun about CrossFit, but for some reason I enjoyed the pain.
I CrossFit because whether it’s a 10 min WOD or 60 min WOD the results are always the same, you’re on the floor gasping for air.
Favorite Workout(s) and Why:
So far I have enjoyed mostly all the workouts I’ve done, that I don’t have just one favorite. What I can say is I enjoy the workouts that combine weightlifting, cardio and the feeling of a never ending WOD. I consider those workouts my favorite because they push you past your limits and then give you the great feeling of accomplishment because you didn’t think you had that in you.
Favorite Movement(s) and Why:
My favorite movement has to be wall balls. I enjoy this movement because it killed me during my first Festivus competition. After that competition I worked hard to be able to do 25 unbroken wall balls. I didn’t want the same results to happen again where I got time capped with 3 reps short of finishing the 25 To Life WOD. Now I like seeing wall balls on WODs
Least Favorite Workout(s) and Why:
That has to be 100 burpees for time because no one wants to find out how fast they can die.
Least Favorite Movement(s) and Why:
Anything overhead is my least favorite because I lack strength in my upper body. Although I say this is a weakness, I continue working on this movement so I can improve and eventually turn strict press or anything over head into my next favorite movement.
Wish I had one, but for now my patience is more than enough.
Words of Advice For New CrossFitters:
Come in with an open mindset. CrossFit is different than anything else you may have done before. Don’t come in trying to be the best or better than anyone else. Everyone starts at different levels. Work hard, be consistent and set goals. You may not be better than everyone else, but you can always better yourself.
Any last comments:
Excuses are like ass…….I mean armpits. Everyone has them. Just put in the hard work be consistent, and you’ll see your gains increase.
