Two Sisters, One Amazing Life
Names: Ana & Cecilia Robles
SISTERS & BEST FRIENDS. Born and Raised in Oxnard, California #4 (Ana) & #5 (Ceci) out of 5 kids. Only 1 year and a half apart but treated like twins even till this day. We are very similar in many ways, yet the complete opposites and for that reason when paired together we complete each other. We are the perfect team. We are sisters, we stand together. We make up one big family, though we don’t look the same. Our strengths are different, different levels. We make each other STRONGER, that ain’t never gonna change. We’re ROBLES girls, ROBLES sisters.
Ana: Accountant & Public DMV Clerk
Ceci: ParaEducator for children with Autism.
Ana: Kayaking, going to the beach w/ my BF “Richie” & my dogs, Netflix & chilling, camping, & reading.
Ceci: Binge watching Hulu, Ps4, hanging out with my boo thang, camping, cooking, listening to and discovering new music.
How You Found CrossFit and/or Why You CrossFit:
We found CFOx after Facebook misinformed us about an “ALL GIRLS NEW YOU CHALLENGE” but Coach Joe and the help of our much-loved Coach Michelle, they sold us on the co-ed New You Challenge classes. BEST DECISION we’ve ever made.
Favorite Workout(s) and Why:
Ana: “CINDY” because this workout consists of my biggest weakness which is upper body strength paired with my biggest strength which is lower body strength. Every time I re-do this work out it proves that I am getting stronger and my hard work is paying off.
Ceci: “Murph” because it kicks my ass in a good way and it’s the only workout I’ve seen the most progress in mentally and physically. I started not being able to run a 200 meter run without stopping and now I can do a tiring workout in between two 800 meter runs without stopping.
Favorite Movement(s) and Why:
Ana: Rowing and kettlebell swings because I feel like they show my biggest strengths and I’m always excited to see progress.
Ceci: Deadlifts and push press because if we’re being honest my cardio sucks but I can lift the heck out of weights and I am proud of my strength.
Least Favorite Workout(s) and Why:
Ana: “RANDY” because anything that consists with lifting overhead is a fear that I must work on and overcome.
Ceci: Any workout where I have to run because running is my KRYPTONITE. It slows me down and tires me out fast which sometimes compromises my form in the entire workout.
Least Favorite Movement(s) and Why:
Ana and Ceci: Burpees because even though we’ve come a long way and improved so much, they still really SUCK and they hurt the wrists at first.
Ana: IRL- I can and will stay calm and collected in stressful/emergency situations.
In CF: Lower body strength- back squat
Ceci: I can read people really well and I am a good judge of character.
In CF: Upper body strength push press & deadlift
Words of Advice For New CrossFitters:
Ana & Ceci: It’s always overwhelming and intimidating starting something new with a group of strangers who are or look more advanced than you. Being afraid of not being able to keep up is a feeling we’ve all felt and still feel at times but if you let that mentality bring you down you’re only enabling yourself to continue the bad habits the brought you here in the first place. Make yourself your only competition and use others as motivation.
Any last comments:
Ana: If you don’t like something, CHANGE IT. Don’t let others determine your success. Find a purpose with no excuses and do not compete with anyone except yourself.
Ceci: Yes, CFOx might be a bit more expensive for some but the average cost per class per day is more than a “Grande” drink from Starbucks but less than a meal from your favorite fast food restaurant. (DO THE MATH) Pick your poison and feel better for 10 minutes or feel better every day all day by committing to living a better life and getting healthy with the awesome help of our amazing coaches who have honestly CHANGED MY LIFE for the BETTER!!
